Buying local produce is recommended as a way to take better care for the environment by reducing air-miles. The journey that produce takes from farm to market is an important aspect to this process. In conjunction with Pippins Farm, Essex, a series of prints were made which documented the apples journey from orchard to market. The journey of their apples from farm to market was documented through the journey the fruit takes through the movement of the produce on route. The visual language of football scarves was referenced in order to make a comment on how if people supported local producers, in the same fanatical way as with football, the reduction in air-miles would dramatically improve the environment.
